A single-vehicle motorcycle accident Friday afternoon, May 24th claimed the life of a Tippecanoe man.
Marshall County Deputies were dispatched to Fir and 19B Roads just after 1 p.m. Officer Smith investigated the crash and determined that Gary Miller, 73, of Tippecanoe had been riding his 2003 Harley XL8 north on Fir Road. For an unknown reason, Mr. Miller lost control of the motorcycle causing him to fall from the motorcycle and strike the roadway.
Gary Miller was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Argos Police Department, Argos EMS, and Lutheran EMS.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
