City of Bridgeport continues bridge and infrastructure repairs

Work is continuing by the city of Bridgeport on some problematic areas that have needed attention.

Mayor Tyler Griffin told GIANT-FM News that crews have completed repair work on four large bridges with the laying of asphalt and some gravel. It is hoped that this will help alleviate some of the flooding and high-water problems on Judy Avenue, one of the main travel routes.

He added that they are continuing to seek funding for additional infrastructure repairs such as water line replacements. Bridgeport has an antiquated system that would be costly to repair all at once and not fiscally feasible at this time. It is hoped that grant applications can be made to try and receive some state or perhaps federal monies through the Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission or some other entity.

City candidate petition packets for those interested in running for office are now available at the City Hall during regular business hours. There are four alderman positions up for election in April of 2027.

Halloween trick-or-treat hours have now been set for the city of Bridgeport. They are from 5 until 8 p.m. on Halloween Saturday October 31st.
