A Brazil man has found himself behind bars following a lengthy investigation by the Indiana State Police.
After receiving allegations of a sexual assault against a female, the Indiana State Police began investigating Andrew Hays, 28, Brazil. The investigation determined Hays forced himself on a female for sexual gratification in LaPorte County.
Hays was arrested on an active warrant by Indiana State Police Troopers Andrew Mattern and Athan Lamson of the Putnamville Post and was booked in the Clay County Jail awaiting extradition to LaPorte County with a $25,000 cash bond. He faces a Level 3 felony charge of rape and a Level 6 felony count of intimidation.
