It was another tough night on the gridiron Friday, October 9th for the Lawrenceville football Indians.
The Newton Eagles used a strong ground and passing attack to hand the Tribe their eighth straight loss 58-6 on Senior Night at Chevisky Field in Newton.
Junior Quincy Fulton scored five times to pace the Eagle offense. The hosts led 14-0 after one quarter, 48-0 at the half and 51-0 after three quarters to improve to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the Little Illini Conference (LIC).
The winless Indians scored their only points of the night on a 19-yard touchdown run by quarterback Blayton Gossett at the 9:22 mark of the third quarter. They are also winless in LIC play at 0-6.
The Indians will end the season Friday, October 16th when they host the unbeaten Mt. Carmel Golden Aces on Senior Night at Ed Loeb Field in Lawrenceville. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
