Walkerton man arrested on drug and reckless driving charges after high-speed motorcycle stunts in Plymouth

A 28-year-old Walkerton man is facing multiple charges, including operating while intoxicated and drug possession, after police say he was caught driving recklessly and performing stunts on a motorcycle through Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Plymouth Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21st. Corporal Schieber observed a motorcycle traveling northbound on Michigan Street from Jefferson Street in a reckless manner. The rider was reportedly seen weaving in and out of traffic, performing a wheelie, and reaching speeds in excess of 65 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.

Corporal Schieber was able to catch up to the motorcycle and initiate a traffic stop. The rider was identified as Jacob Geissler, 28, of Walkerton.

During the stop, the officer noted signs of impairment. A subsequent search of Geissler's person revealed suspected psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana.

Geissler was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was lodged on preliminary charges of reckless driving, operating while intoxicated - endangerment, operating while intoxicated - controlled substance, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and possession of marijuana with a prior conviction.

 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.

On Tuesday afternoon, April 21st, shortly after 4 p.m., Corporal Schieber with the Plymouth Police Department observed a motorcycle riding north on Michigan Street from Jefferson Street, recklessly.

The rider was seen weaving in and out of traffic, doing a wheelie, and riding in excess of 65 MPH in a posted 35 MPH zone.

Officer Schieber was able to catch up and conduct a traffic stop, identifying the rider as 28-year-old Jacob Geissler of Walkerton. The officer observed signs of impairment during the traffic stop, in addition to locating suspected psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana on his person.

Geissler was taken into custody and lodged at the Marshall County Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of reckless driving, operating while intoxicated-endangerment, operating while intoxicated-controlled substance, possession of schedule 1 controlled substance, and possession of marijuana with a prior.
