One of the largest annual food drives will occur this Saturday as the National Association of Letter Carriers sponsors the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Postal customers are asked to place non-perishable food donations by their mailboxes this Saturday. Letter carriers or volunteers will collect the donations and return them to the post office, where distribution will happen.
Most-needed items include:
- Canned meat
- Canned fruit
- Canned vegetables
Please do not donate expired or open food or items in glass jars.
Stamp Out Hunger is a nationwide initiative sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers, the United States Postal Service, and the Rural Letter Carriers Association.
Food collected will be distributed to local hunger relief organizations.
