Officers with the Shelbyville Police Department responded Monday to the 400 block of West Washington Street in reference to a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female inside the residence. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound.
This incident remains under active investigation. Jayden Matthew McQueary (photo), age 18, has been taken into custody and booked into the Shelby County Jail with a charge of reckless homicide.
A juvenile also was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention facility.
