Recycle Depot Tree Giveaway for Earth Month

The Marshall County Recycle Depot is giving away free trees while supplies last. Each household or individual may take home five free trees.

The trees are three-year-old bare root saplings grown by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. The four types available are black cherry, sugar maple, persimmon, and white oak. Instructions about each tree and best planting practices are included.

“This is our fifth tree giveaway since 2021,” said Director Marianne Peters. “Since we started, Marshall County residents have planted over 2,000 trees. What a wonderful legacy for our community!”

Residents can stop by at any time during the Depot’s business hours to pick up their trees.

The Recycle Depot is Marshall County’s headquarters for recycling, household chemical and hazardous waste disposal, and environmental education. Compost bins and supplies, as well as rain barrels, are also available for sale. The Depot is located at 1900 Walter Glaub Drive, Plymouth, Indiana. For more information and our hours, call (574) 935-8618 or visit the Depot’s website at www.myrecycledepot.org.
