The Randolph Street Bridge Replacement Project #232, being carried out by LaPorte Construction in Centennial Park, will be open for use during the Labor Day weekend for the Blueberry Festival.
Jason Peters, the County Highway Superintendent, informed the Commissioners during their meeting on Monday that LaPorte Construction poured the sidewalks on the bridge deck early last week, and the east wall was poured on Friday. He reported that all subgrades were prepared, and 53 stones were placed for subgrade treatment.

This week, LaPorte Construction will pour the west wall and all four bridge transitions. Some curbs will be poured to protect the storm structures, and base asphalt will be installed. Asphalt will have a transition at the bridge approaches and roadway cuts for pedestrians and tractor trollies to navigate the roadway as smoothly as possible during the Blueberry Festival.
LaPorte Construction will complete the necessary work so the bridge can open on August 23rd for the festival activities. Plans are to reclose the roadway to continue construction on September 8th.
