In what happened to be a multiple-day development, a Plymouth man was arrested on domestic charges.
On Friday, June 21st, around 11:30 pm, Plymouth Police responded to the 100 block of North Liberty Street. A caller observed a female walking around with a large, bleeding cut on her forehead.
When police arrived, Officer Schieber reported the victim was transported to the hospital for her injuries. This was after officers determined the cause of her injuries was from a physical-domestic altercation. Officers attempted to locate the second person involved but were unable to.
On Saturday morning June 22nd, city police officers located the suspect, identified as Kelly Cowger, a 41-year-old Plymouth man. Cowger was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.
He was booked in for felony domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, strangulation, and misdemeanor intimidation. Cowger is being held on a $1,500 cash bond.Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
