Aviation officials have been called in to investigate a plane crash in eastern Lawrence County.
Preliminary reports indicate that units of the Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District were mobilized Sunday August to the crash location near Westport in eastern Lawrence County. The single engine plane was dusting crops when it crashed and overturned on its top in a field.
The pilot escaped without injury, but the plane suffered extensive damage.
No other information is being released pending completion of the investigation.
