There are plans for the construction of a new hanger at the Mid-American Air Center located northeast of Lawrenceville in the near future.
The Bi-State Authority, which oversees the airport was updated on the preliminary planning for the project by manager Devon Hill Tuesday.
Hill told GIANT-FM News that an 8-bay hanger is being looked at which would contain 8 private t-hanger stalls for plane storage. The funding for the construction would come from local, state and federal sources with a majority of the money being federal. Firm costs estimates are not yet available. Additional paperwork remains before the actual groundbreaking can take place. If all goes well, it is hoped that work can begin this spring and be completed by the fall.
