The Marshall County Drainage Board awarded bids on two maintenance projects during their Monday morning, September 16th meeting.
The first project is on the Leo Berger Ditch, which is in two sections: from the shoreline of the Yellow River west of Jarrah Road and upstream for approximately 4,500 feet, ending on the west side of 7B Road. The second section begins at the north side of the ditch crossing and goes upstream for approximately 3,700 feet. The total project is 8,200 feet.
The Leo Berger project cleans the ditch to its original bottom, debrushing both sides of the ditch bank and removing problem trees.
Three companies submitted sealed bids: Allsop for $34,900, Langfeldt for $15,580, and Beaver Excavating for $13,200.

The second maintenance project was on the Carl Gjemer Ditch between West County Line Road and Upas Road. The project is in three sections: 100 feet west of the County Line Road, working upstream on the north side of the ditch for 3,500 feet, and south of 9B Road. The second section is at the intersection of the fence line on the main ditch upstream to the west edge of a wooded area for 7,860 feet. The final section begins at the angle point where the ditch heads westerly and upstream for 400 feet south of 9th Road.
Maintenance includes cleaning the ditch to the original bottom, removing problem trees, and debrushing the slopes and top of the ditch bank.
The same three companies also submitted seal bids for the Gjemer Ditch. Allsop Construction offered a bid of $56,600, Langfeldt Excavating at $22,344, and Beaver Excavating at $20,750.

The Marshall County Drainage Board awarded both projects to Beaver Construction, the low bidder. Both projects will be completed on April 21, 2025.
