As renovations at Jaycee Park wrap up, Rochester Parks and Recreation officials are reminding locals to stay off the playground area until it officially open.
For now the park, located at 1204 Monroe St in Rochester, remains closed as finishing touches are being made. Along with the new playground equipment, improvements at the park include additional parking and new sidewalks.
Officials say although the fenced-in playground area may seem safe right now, the surrounding areas are still an active work zone. Landscaping is underway, grass is being planted, and there are areas that are currently marked off for everyone’s safety.
They hope to open the park by mid to late next week, but an official opening date has not yet been set.
For updates on the park's opening you can follow the progress on the Rochester Park & Recreation's Facebook page.
