A Knox man was given a ten year sentenced by a Starke County judge this week after he was found guilty of a Level 4 Felony for Child Molesting in April.

According to court documents a Starke Circuit County judge handed Aaron Brewer, 34, of Knox, a ten year prison sentence on Monday, May 19.

The Starke County Prosecutor's Office stated allegations against Brewer were brought to light when the Indiana Department of Child Services first contacted the City of Knox Police Department about an allegation of child molestation that was reported to have taken place during the fall of 2021 when the victim was around seven or eight years old. The child explained to the forensic interviewer that the events took place while they were alone with Brewer and claimed that Brewer allowed the victim to drive the family's pick-up truck. The victim stated they had not told anyone because they had been scared of Brewer.

After a jury trial, Brewer was found guilty of felony Child Molestation on April 24. On Monday's sentencing Brewer indicated to the court he intended to file an appeal on his ten year prison sentence.
