IN Senate Republicans offering paid spring internships for 2027 legislative session

The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus is now accepting applications for paid spring-semester internships during the 2027 session of the Indiana General Assembly, announced State Senator Mike Bohacek (R-Michiana Shores).

Internship opportunities are available in six different offices within the Senate Republican Caucus: communications, information technology, legal, legislative, page, and policy. Qualified candidates may be of any major and must be at least a college sophomore. Recent college graduates, as well as graduate and law school students, are also encouraged to apply.

Interns will earn a $900 biweekly stipend and will have access to scholarship and academic credit opportunities, professional development, community involvement, and networking experiences designed to help them build valuable career connections.

Senate internships are full-time positions based at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis. The program typically begins with a mandatory orientation in late December or early January. The incoming intern class will conclude their work at the end of the 2027 legislative session, which by law must end by April 29th.

"The Senate internship program provides students with an excellent way to get involved with their state government and learn more about how laws are made," Bohacek said. "I always enjoy getting to work with students who are eager to learn, and I encourage all eligible students to apply for this internship."
