Two Rochester men are facing felony drug charges after Plymouth Police responded to a welfare check at the Economy Inn on Friday and discovered narcotics in the vehicle during the investigation.

Plymouth Police Officers were dispatched to the Economy Inn for a report of two male subjects in a vehicle who were possibly unresponsive. As officers arrived on the scene, the male driver attempted to flee the area.

During the investigation, Plymouth K9 Officer Schieber and K9 Kyzer conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle, which produced a positive alert. The driver, Ryne Carpenter, 36, was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics as a Level 5 felony, possession of paraphernalia as a Level 6 felony, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated on a controlled substance. The passenger, Christian Sweet, 30, was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics as a Level 5 felony and possession of paraphernalia as a Level 6 felony.

Both were transported to the Marshall County Jail.
