Greencastle senior Allison Landry advanced in the IHSAA Tennis State Finals.
Landry won the opening round match over Shelbyville junior Ava Muckerheide, 6-4, 6-0 at Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis.
With the win, Landry (19-0) moved into this afternoon’s Quarterfinal round in the singles state tournament. Landry will face Munster’s Priyanka Tallamraju (16-0) at 2 p.m.
Also competing in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m., Homestead’s Caroline Meier (15-5) vs. Penn’s Olivia Wu (18-1); North Central’s Brooke Ratcliff (16-3) vs. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger’s Sophia Gamez; and Center Grove’s Sophia Heck (16-1) vs. Brebeuf Jesuit’s Chloe Wendowski (13-1).
The semifinals are slated for 10 a.m. Saturday at Park Tudor.
The state championship match is at 2 p.m.
Muckerheide finished her season with a 17-3 record.
