Emergency responders from the Plymouth Police Department and Fire Department responded to an accident in the parking lot of Divert Inc, the food waste collection and treatment facility at 2857 Jim Neu Drive on Friday, January 3rd at 10:30 p.m.
Officer Vinson with the Plymouth Police Department said a male subject drove his truck into a parked semi-trailer in the parking lot.
During the investigation, the driver was identified as Jared Good of Plymouth. He was found to be in possession of a narcotic drug and operating a vehicle while under the influence of the narcotic drug.
Good was medically treated and later transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked in for initial charges of operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in the body, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
