County police arrested a Grovertown man after he fled from an officer attempting a traffic stop.
A Marshall County Sheriff Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a motorcycle for several traffic infractions last Friday, September 20th at about 7:15 p.m.
When the deputy activated the emergency lights, the motorcycle fled. A pursuit was initiated and continued into St. Joseph County, where the operator, William Aaron Fosburgh, 19, of Grovertown, was taken into custody.
Fosburgh was booked into the county jail for resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and aggressive driving. His cash bond was set at $1,500 and paid about 2:30 Sunday afternoon, and he was released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
