The motorcycle, a Suzuki driven by Derrick Shepherd, 20, of Knox, was traveling eastbound on CR 50 S. and struck the driver side of Caudill’s vehicle.
Shepherd was declared dead at the scene. Caudill was transported to a local hospital for her injuries.
At this point, this is an ongoing investigation. The Starke County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Knox Police Department, Washington Township Fire Department, the Starke County Coroner’s office, and Starke County EMS.
