On Monday at 5:43 p.m., the Marshall County Coroner’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle fatality on 8th Road west of Apple Road, west of Bourbon.
The deceased were occupants of a horse-drawn buggy traveling westbound on 8th Road when they were struck from behind by a pickup truck.
The buggy occupants were pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Dean Byers. Aden W. Chupp, age 62, and Mary Sue Chupp, age 60, husband and wife of Nappanee, were killed in the crash.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department will release details of the fatal crash and information on the other driver.
Assisting at the scene were Bourbon Police and Fire, along with Lutheran EMS.
