
Area Easter egg hunts kicked off this weekend. Life Care Center of Rochester hosted their annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 12.
The hunt consisted of three age groups for kids ages 10 and under. Prizes for each group were given to the lucky hunters who found a golden egg. A gallery of Saturday's egg hunt at Life Care is featured below.

Akron
The Akron Chamber of Commerce is having an Easter egg hunt from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 19, at Pike Memorial Park in town. There will be more than 6,000 eggs and prizes, with a visit from the Easter Bunny and a spring petting zoo. Kids will hunt by age groups at the following times: Ages 0-3, 11:30 a.m.; ages 4-6, 11:35 a.m.; ages 7-9, 11:40 a.m.; and ages 10-12, 11:45 a.m.
Argos
An Easter breakfast will be available for freewill donation at Argos Community Schools Saturday, April 19, from 7-10 a.m.
The Argos town Easter egg hunt will be at the Argos Community Park on Saturday, April 19, from 10-11 a.m.
Etna Green
The Etna Green Lions Club is hosting an egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Heritage Park.
Fulton
The Fulton-Liberty Lions Club is having an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Liberty Township Park. People should meet at the pavilions, with the hunt being at the ball fields and playground. Kids will hunt in four age groups: 0-3; 4-5; 6-8; and 9-12. Those who get $5 prizes will have their pictures taken. People should be sure to leave the plastic eggs in totes after they’re done.
Logansport
Black Dog Coffee at 116 S. Sixth St. in Logansport, will host an event for pictures with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 19, from 1-3 p.m.
Logansport Church of the Nazarene, 109 W. Clinton St., hosts a Community Easter egg hunt for kids ages 12 and younger on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m.
Tall Sycamore Campgrounds, 355 S. 600 East, hosts Easter festivities Saturday, April 19. Egg coloring will start at 1 p.m., Egg hunt with the Easter Bunny at 3 p.m., and an Easter carry-in dinner at 6 p.m.
Mentone
The Mentone Chamber of Commerce is having an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19. It will be at First Baptist Church, 206 S. Oak St., due to construction at Mentzer Park.
North Judson
The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum has announced the annual return of its Easter Trains, a popular holiday favorite for adults and children of all ages.
The events will feature an Easter Egg Hunt after each train ride, with a rush to find every candy-filled egg. More than 6,000 eggs will be distributed this year and gathered by children in three age categories. The child who finds the golden egg in each age category will receive a special prize.
Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras and take photos of their children with the Easter Bunny during these events. Children will receive a gift bag while aboard the train.
The Easter Train events this year, again, will help support the Purdue Railroad Club. A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to the organization. The club is among the oldest student organizations at Purdue University.
Diesel Easter Trains depart from the station in North Judson on Saturday, April 19, at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (Central Time). Each trip takes passengers on a 45-minute countryside excursion, crossing the Kankakee River at English Lake before returning.
Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $14 for children, ages 3 to 15, for coach or open-air seating. First class seating options, in a former business car, include suites for up to three people for $80 or $25 general lounge seats. Infants and toddlers under 3 are free, when riding on a parent’s or guardian’s lap. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at hoosiervalley.org.
Rochester
Hickory Creek at Rochester will give out candy-filled eggs to anyone who stops by starting at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 18. Treats are available while supplies last.
Fulton County REMC’s student board is putting on an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Fulton County Fairgrounds. The Easter Bunny will also be present for photos.
Star City
The Star City Community Church will hold an Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 19, at the Star City town park for children age 12 and younger. Age groups will be: 0-4, 5-9 and 10-12. Activities also will include a bounce house and fire trucks.
Warsaw
The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department is having an Easter egg scavenger hunt at city parks that starts Monday, April 14, and goes until Thursday, April 17. During those dates, 20 white eggs will be hidden at each of the city’s parks. To get prizes, people may bring those in to the parks’ office at 123 E. Fort Wayne St. There will also be one golden egg hidden at a park that is worth an extra special prize. The office is open 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., and closed from 1-1:30 p.m. for lunch.
Morning Star Foursquare Church, 2506 State Road 15, is having a community Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19.
Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church is having a community Easter egg hunt from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Central Park. Along with 10,000 eggs, there will be free refreshments, balloon entertainment by “The Magical Balloon Guy” team, a scavenger hunt in the Biblical gardens, and more.
