The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports that an earthquake occurred early Tuesday in southern Illinois.
The 3.5 magnitude quake was recorded around 1:30 a.m. in an area about 90 miles north of Mount Vernon near the town of Ohlman. Residents there and in the immediate area felt some brief, minor shaking.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries or major damages.
