A traffic stop on Wednesday evening landed a Chicago man in the Marshall County Jail for possession of a controlled substance.
At about 9:20 p.m. on April 23rd, Marshall County officers were advised of a white utility van all over the roadway. Deputy Geiger located the suspect van near U.S. 30 and U.S. 31.
The van driver, 47-year-old James P. Obrzut of Chicago, IL, was stopped for traffic infractions.
During the investigation, Obrzut was found to be in possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. He was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked for possession of a controlled substance. He was given a court date and a cash bond of $500, and Lyon Wrecker Service towed his vehicle.

They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings, entitled to be represented by counsel, and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
