Friday at 7:50 a.m. the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and County Coroner’s Office investigated a fatal crash on U.S. 30 and Cedar Road.
First responders were dispatched to the scene and a total of six people were injured and one person died in the collision.
Responders found that the driver of a 2013 GMC Pickup, 46-year-old Randy Ousley of Bourbon partially ejected from the pickup truck. He was killed when the truck rolled over during the collision.
Aid was given to Ousley, but he died at the scene.
The initial investigation showed that a 2023 Jeep Wrangler driven by 33-year-old Mackendy Fontaine of Columbus, Ohio, was westbound on U.S. 30. Fontaine apparently lost control and struck Ousley’s pickup on the driver’s side. His vehicle was slowed or stopped at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Cedar Road.
Police indicated that falling and blowing snow contributed to the collision.
Police released little information about the other passengers who were injured, but did say Viergela Dolcine, age 31 of Columbus, Ohio, and a 4-year-old juvenile in the 2023 Jeep were injured.
The pickup truck driver, Randy Ousley of Bourbon, was deceased and a 15-year-old and 4-year-old in his truck were injured.
All five survivors in the collision were transported to Memorial Hospital with various non-life.
The collision is still under investigation and a report will be forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor's Office after the investigation is completed for possible charges.
