Jail Bookings
• Reanna L. Frye, 34, Indianapolis, was taken into custody Wednesday on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court on an original charge of driving while suspended. She was held at the Fulton County Jail on a $150 cash bond.
Police Incidents
Blown transformer
• Multiple reports of a blown transformer and a resulting fire in the 200 block of West 10th Street were made to police around 2 a.m. Wednesday. Firefighters were dispatched, and Duke Energy was notified that a tree branch had fallen on top of the pole.
Road debris
• At 8:29 a.m. Wednesday, police received a report that a large, wrapped box was lying in eastbound lanes of traffic at State Road 14 and County Road 400 East. It had possibly fallen off a truck and was later retrieved.
Animal calls
• Shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday, police received a complaint about the constant barking of a dog near Fansler Park. Its owner was later advised of the complaint by an officer.
• Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, animal control attempted to make contact with a resident in the 1200 block of Madison Street after receiving a complaint about their dog being tied up outside for hours and barking constantly. The dog was inside upon arrival, and there didn't seem to be any issues at that time.
• At 2:42 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report about cows out on State Road 17 near County Road 600 North. The owner was aware when contacted and on his way to get them fenced back in.
Fraud
• At 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, a woman reported that she received a notification about someone attempting to take out a loan in her name. She was advised to pick up a packet at the sheriff's office with resources and instructions for victims of fraud.
At McDonald's
• Shortly before noon Wednesday, a woman reported having an odd interaction with an older man at McDonald's, 101 McDonald Drive. She told police he gave her a prayer card and a silver spoon, and when she went to leave, he started to pull up to her vehicle. He was reportedly joined by another woman and left in a white car. Police records indicate that he did not say or do anything inappropriate.
Citizen assist
• Around 1 a.m. Wednesday, an officer and bystander helped free a woman's vehicle from snow in the parking lot of Peace Tree Village Plaza.
Noise complaint
• Shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday, police received a complaint that a man staying in a building without power in the 800 block of Main Street was using a very loud generator and keeping people up at night. The man was later advised of the complaint by an officer and given a verbal warning for an ordinance violation.
Suicide
• At 5:13 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report that a man hanged himself at a property on Forrest Lane, off Olson Road. A woman had called police after cutting him down, and the coroner's office was subsequently called to the scene. Authorities have not released his identity pending family notification.
Civil issue
• At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man reported selling a vehicle to another man, who afterwards was refusing to return its license plate. In speaking with an officer, that buyer stated he would return the plate within a few days.
Fraud
• Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, a woman requested to speak with an officer after receiving texts from someone wanting her personal information. She was advised it was a scam and to contact her bank if she suspected suspicious activity.
