The Jaguar Rocket Futurity trials had a unique way to get to the outcome, but the top qualifiers for the series are set.
The fastest qualifier was Wyld Over Corona (photo) from the first set run June 25. Following the first two trials, races were canceled for the remainder of the card with the final two trials contested as non-wagering events Monday.

Wyld Over Corona, ridden by Eduardo Diaz, rallied out of the gate on top in the 350-yard dash over a sloppy track. As the favorite of the field, the gelding pulled away to a three-length advantage at the wire in 17.766 seconds.
AP Jess Im A D and Francisco Quintero finished second in a photo with Luna Luvgud and Cristian Penaloza.

Wyld Over Corona paid $4.40 for the win. The KVN Corona son is owned by JF Racing Stables and trained by Tim Eggleston. The homebred freshman is now two for two in his brief career.
The second fastest qualifier on the list heading to the Jaguar Rocket Futurity Final was recorded in one of the trials Monday as Scarcity and Fernando Morin also used a front-end sprint to score the win in 18.043. CV Warlock and Eduardo Diaz finished a length back in second over Marys Tacha and Cristian Penaloza.
Scarcity is owned and trained by Claudio Barraza. He also is a co-breeder on the Kiss My Hocks filly with Alberto Valadez. She was also making her second lifetime start in the non-wagering event.
