The Indiana High School Athletic Association’s Executive Committee recently released the host sites for the upcoming winter sports season.
William L. Garrett Gymnasium will be a girls basketball regional host site in 2027, but it will not be a sectional host site for either Shelbyville basketball program.
Shelbyville’s girls basketball will travel north to the Class 3A sectional at Beech Grove. The 6-team sectional features the host Hornets, Connersville, Purdue Polytechnic-Downtown, Roncalli, Rushville and Shelbyville.
The sectional field is the same for Shelbyville boys basketball but the host site is the Spartan Bowl in Connersville.
Eastern Hancock is the host site for a Class 2A girls basketball sectional that includes Triton Central. The remainder of the field includes Christel House, Indianapolis Scecina, KIPP Indy Legacy, Knightstown and Victory College Prep.
Triton Central will host a Class 2A boys basketball sectional with the same teams as the girls sectional at Eastern Hancock.
Hauser will host an 8-team Class A sectional that includes Edinburgh, Greenwood Christian, Morristown, North Decatur, South Decatur, Southwestern and Waldron.
The matching boys sectional will be hosted by Edinburgh.
Girls basketball sectionals begin on Feb. 2. Boys basketball sectionals start on March 2.
Shelbyville swimming will again compete in the New Palestine Sectional.
The girls sectional is scheduled for Feb. 4 (preliminaries) and Feb. 6 (championships). The boys sectional is Feb. 18 and Feb. 20.
The sectional field includes Centerville, Connersville, Eastern Hancock, Greenfield-Central, Hagerstown, Mt. Vernon, New Castle, New Palestine, Richmond, Seton Catholic and Shelbyville.
Girls wrestling sectionals are Jan. 9.
Triton Central will compete at the Perry Meridian Sectional against Beech Grove, Center Grove, Christel House, Decatur Central, Franklin Central, Greenwood, KIPP Indy Legacy, North Central, Perry Meridian, Plainfield, Purdue Polytechnic-Downtown, Roncalli, Southport and Warren Central.
Shelbyville will compete against Bedford North Lawrence, Bloomington North, Bloomington South, Brown County, Columbus East, Columbus North, Eastern (Pekin), Edgewood, Franklin, Indian Creek, Mitchell, Seymour, West Washington and Whiteland at an as yet to be determine site.
Boys wrestling sectionals are Jan. 30.
Shelbyville and Triton Central will compete against Beech Grove, Franklin Central, Indianapolis Lutheran, Perry Meridian, Purdue Polytechnic-Downtown, Roncalli, Southport and Warren Central at an as yet to be determined site.
