It was a tough loss for the Red Hill Baseball Salukis Wednesday in the semi-finals of the Class A Edwards County Regional Tournament.
Cash Connor of the host Lions hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning off Saluki starter Peyton Seaney and that turned out to be the only run of the game in a 1-0 Lions win. The Salukis were shut out by the outstanding pitching of Jackson Hensley of Edward County who allowed only 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. Seaney was almost as good. He lost giving up only the one run on 4 hits with 2 strikeouts and no walks. The Salukis end the season at 10-13. Edwards County advances to the title game Saturday and will meet Farina (South Central) at 11 a.m. They won over Cisne 3-2 in 8 innings.
