
A 38-year-old Waldron track and field record was broken Monday in a three-team meet at Triton Central.
The quartet of Jared Crosby, Lucas Shaw, Tad Crosby and Will Larrison won the 1,600 meter relay in 3:34.04 to break the Waldron program record set in 1987.
Triton Central won the team title with 66 points. Indy Genesis was second with 52 points. Waldron finished third (27).
Triton Central had a trio of double-event winners. Zeke Robertson took first in the 110 hurdles (15.05 seconds) and 300 hurdles (40.81), Willy Baugh won the shot put (49 feet, 5.75 inches) and discus (118-6), and Cash Compton was the fastest in the 100 (11.17) and 200 (22.7).
Other event winners for Triton Central were Landon Slone (55.23 in 400) and Henry Kemper (18-5.5 in long jump).
Waldron’s only other event winner was Lucas Shaw in the high jump (5-10).
Indy Genesis won the girls meet with 69 points. Triton Central (52) finished second ahead of Waldron (18).
Triton Central had three event winners — Sawyor Murdick (1:08.74 in 400), Bella Ball (4-6 in high jump) and Lydia Hough (14-4 in long jump).
Waldron’s got first-place points from Ashlyn Ramsey (89-7 in discus) and Brooklyn Milbourn (31-1.5 in shot out).

Knightstown 16, Morristown 0
At Knightstown, Carson Bonham and Mason Butler combined to no-hit the Yellow Jackets and improve to 6-0 this season.
Travis Louks and Braylon Johnson had four hits combined and drove in five runs for the top-ranked team in Class A.
Morristown (1-5) hosts Southwestern (3-2) Thursday.
Boys golf
Shelbyville 155, Greensburg 167, East Central 168
At Greensburg Country Club, four Golden Bears broke 40 to post a season-best score and defeat the Pirates and Trojans.
Shelbyville’s Brock Wischmeyer and Greensburg’s Colton Schneider shared the medalist honor with 38s.
For Shelbyville, Logan Reinhart, Jake Garrison and Logan Tobias each shot 39.
New Palestine 165, Triton Central 177
At Hawk’s Tail Golf Course, Triton Central’s Chase Chandler was the medalist with a 38.
Josiah Kissell (39) and Andrew Wooton (40) led the Dragons.
Also on the Triton Central scorecard were Derreck Uhls (44), Max Crouse (47) and Colton Ayres (48).
Softball
Hagerstown 11, Morristown 0
At Hagerstown, Rylan Young and Aaliyah Anderson struck out 11 and did not allow a hit to improve the Tigers to 6-0.
Layla Cool had three hits, scored three runs and drove in two to lead the Hagerstown offense.
Abby Hawk took the loss for Morristown (2-4).
The Yellow Jackets host Oldenburg Academy (1-5) Friday.
Indiana Deaf 29, Waldron 24
At Indiana Deaf, the visiting Mohawks scored 10 runs in the top of the first inning but struggled in the pitcher’s circle with walks (22) and defensively with eight errors.
Alexis Rogers had three hits, including two triples, scored four runs and drove in five for Waldron (0-2).
Girls tennis
Shelbyville 3, Waldron 2
At Waldron, the visiting Golden Bears swept the singles matches to secure the win over the Mohawks.
At No. 1 singles, Ava Muckerheide defeated Emerson Lindsey, 6-3, 6-0. Sophia Asher bested Riley Thurston at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4. And Corinne Aldridge collected a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles over Ava Leising.
At No. 2 doubles, Waldron’s Malia Murphy and Lilly Mann defeated Kylie Stader and Abby Huntsman, 6-0, 6-1.
The most competitive match came at No. 1 doubles where Waldron’s Riley Price and Jackie Corlett rallied to beat Megan Childres and Ava Van Wye, 4-6, 7-5, 12-10.
Boys volleyball
Shelbyville def. Warren Central, 25-22, 25-17, 27-25
At Garrett Gymnasium in Shelbyville, Drake Tillison led the Golden Bears with nine kills, two service aces and 20 digs.
Corbin Deck finished with eight kills, five aces and 17 digs. Layne Pogue notched a team-high 21 digs and 17 assists.
Warren Central dropped to 4-10.
Shelbyville (5-8) hosts Columbus East (8-10) tonight.
Track and field
Shelbyville, Southwestern
At Dennis Hearne Track and Field facility at McKeand Stadium, the host Golden Bears win both three-team meets.
Shelbyville’s 97 points in the girls meet defeated both Rushville (60) and Southwestern (3).
Shelbyville freshman Macey Robbins won both the 400 (1:01.99) and the 800 (2:39.21). Other individual event winners were Diana Gasca (14.22 in 100), Alyna Castanon (28.95 in 200), Amara Lewis (18.74 in 100 hurdles), Aerin Garcia-Santiago (13:15 in 3,200), Jordyn Noe (4-6 in high jump), Haylee Barnes (7-6 in pole vault) and Addy Stout (26-0.5 in shot put).
The Golden Bears won all three relay races.
Gasca, Noe, Lewis and Koli Adkins won the 400 relay in 54.62.
Castanon, Barnes, Lewis and Nevaeh Cole finished first in the 1,600 relay (4:36.89).
Garcia-Santiago teamed with Claire Kamplain, Kat Seal and Isabela Gomez to win the 3,200 relay (12:16.84).
Shelbyville won eight individual events and all three relay races to total 85 points in the boys meet to defeat Rushville (73) and Southwestern (8).
Individual event winners for Shelbyville were Blake Hughes (11.78 in 100), Christian Powell (22.98 in 200), Kamden Turner (55.56 in 400), Elias Slaven (2:13.33 in 800), Shia Veach (10:34 in 3,200), Isaac Zermeno (44.66 in 300 hurdles), Logan Page (5-10 in high jump) and Jaylen Eads (11-6 in pole vault).
Page and Powell ran with Joaquin Delgado and Trell Garner to win the 400 relay (45.5).
Powell also had a win in the 1,600 relay (3:50.59) with Zermeno, Jorge Jaurequi and Alex Wells.
In the 3,200 relay, Slaven and Veach teamed with Ethan Coffey and Anderson Mollenkopf to cross the finish line first in 9:50.54.
