The 2026 boys tennis regional bracket at Center Grove matched the 2025 version with the same four teams returning for Tuesday’s semifinal round.
And the same two teams advanced.
Waldron defeated Roncalli, 5-0, while No. 3 Center Grove took down Connersville, 5-0.
The Mohawks (16-3) will face the Trojans (20-2) in the regional championship today.
Waldron won all five matches against Roncalli in straight sets.
At No. 1 singles, Charlie Fischer defeated Brian Moreno, 6-4, 6-4.
Lincoln Fischer produced a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles over Brody Daeger.
Freshman Noah Leap won his first regional match at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-3 over Ben Woodruff.
At No. 1 doubles, Jackson Kuhn and Caige Sheaffer rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Owen Geiger and Quentin Gibson.
And Wyatt Armstrong and Owen Hartman finished off Owen Sidhom and Preston Griffith, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Triton Central’s No. 1 singles player Brayden Hoover advanced out of the team sectional at Shelbyville and competed Tuesday in the IHSAA State Singles Tournament at Center Grove.
Hoover advanced with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Southport’s Brady Hobbs.

Cross country
Waldron Invitational
Greenwood Christian had the top three finishers in the boys race and was the only program to field a complete team.
Griffin Carney (15:44.76), Max McNichols (17:43) and Luke Adler (18:36) took the top three spots for Greenwood Christian.
Waldron’s Spencer Armstrong finished fifth in 19:49 and teammate Tad Crosby was sixth (19:56). Also competing for Waldron were Matt Campbell (30:30) and Parker Allen (34:27).
Triton Central had three participants in the race. Jason P’Pool placed 12th in 22:54. Max Tupper (23:43) and Braydyn Hart (24:37) were close behind.
There were only seven competitors in the girls race. Greenwood Christian’s Kylynn Neal (23:05) and Kaylee Williamson (23:46) finished 1-2.
Triton Central’s Audrey Morris (26:51) and Lillian Siegel (36:40) and Waldron’s Kassidy Meulen (27:36) were participants.
Boys soccer
East Central Sectional
Columbus North 9, Shelbyville 0
Shelbyville was held scoreless for the fourth time in its last five outings and was eliminated from the sectional.
Shelbyville finished the season 6-10-1.
With the win, Columbus North (8-3-4) advances to face Center Grove (6-6-4) in Thursday’s semifinal round.
Southwestern Sectional
Shawe Memorial 4, Southwestern 1
The Hilltoppers scored three goals in the final 15 minutes of the first half and Gus Grote secured his third goal early in the second half to propel Class A, No. 3 Shawe Memorial to the win.
Ethan Sipes scored his 19th goal of the season with just under 25 minutes left in the second half, but the Spartans could not mount a rally.
The 17th-ranked Spartans finished the season 10-5-2.
The Hilltoppers improved to 14-2 and will face Hauser (11-3-2) Thursday in the semifinal round of the Southwestern Sectional.
Volleyball
Whiteland def. Shelbyville, 25-22, 29-31, 25-11, 25-23
At Whiteland, the host Warriors lost an extended second set but recovered to win the next two and pin a fifth straight loss on the Golden Bears (15-10).
Jordyn Noe led Shelbyville with 10 kills. Taylor Abell and Maggie Kolkmeier each had eight while Lyla Wilson finished with six kills and four service aces.
Addy Marshall and Addison Wooten each had a team-high 16 digs. Marshall finished with 28 assists.
Whiteland improved to 10-13.
Shelbyville closes out its regular season schedule Thursday at Warren Central.
