
Triton Central tennis had a representative in all five championship matches Saturday and won three to secure the Indiana Crossroads Conference championship.
Maryrose Felling (No. 1 singles), Ellie Gast (No. 3 singles) and Kate Collier and Neve Kahler (No. 1 doubles) were crowned champions. Anniston Evans (No. 2 singles) and Estelle Gearlds and Caydence Stout (No. 2 doubles) finished runner-up in their respective brackets.
Felling finished 3-0 at No. 1 singles and lost a total of six games total in straight-set wins.
Gast won a pair of straight-set matches at No. 3 singles before needing three sets to defeat Covenant Christian’s Abby Gibson in the championship, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.
Collier and Kahler produced a three-set victory in the semifinal round before blanking Scecina’s Ashley Mendez and Giuliana Moscoso, 6-0, 6-0 in the championship.
On Monday, Triton Central defeated Beech Grove, 5-0, losing just one game in the process. The Tigers improved to 9-1 this season.

Columbus North 9, Shelbyville 8
At Columbus North, a 4-run fourth inning gave the Bull Dogs the lead for good. Brock Kintner had three hits, scored two runs and drove in five to improve Columbus North to 6-8 this season.
Shelbyville (8-7) used a 4-run second inning to take a 5-3 lead but Columbus North scored single runs in the second and fifth innings to build a 9-5 advantage.
Aiden Smith hit a 2-run home run in the seventh for the Golden Bears but the comeback fell short.
Shelbyville hosts Yorktown (8-7, 4-6 Hoosier Heritage Conference) today.
Boys golf
Triton Central White 158, Triton Central Green 194, Beech Grove 237
At The Links Golf Club, three Triton Central golfers broke 40 to produce the Tigers’ best score of the season.
Chase Chandler earned his sixth medalist honor of the season with a 38. Derreck Uhls and Colton Ayres each shot 39. Max Crouse completed the scorecard with a 42.
Jackson Faust led the Triton Central Green team with a career- best round of 45.
Shelbyville 165, Connersville 175, Rushville 183, Knightstown 209
At Arbor Crossing Golf Club, Jake Garrison shot 37 to lead the Golden Bears to the victory and earn the medalist honor.
Also playing for Shelbyville were Brock Wischmeyer (41), Logan Reinhart (43) and Ethan Hughes (47).
Softball
Shelbyville 10, Whiteland 5
At Shelbyville, for the second day in a row the Golden Bears put nine runs on the scoreboard in the second and third innings to roll to a win over the Warriors.
The bottom third of the lineup set up the top third of the order in the second inning. A Sydney Brown single and walk to Reagan Dillon led to consecutive run-scoring hits by Julie Garrison, Addie Stieneker and Anna Shearer.
Four walks and a hit batter helped the Golden Bears (13-7) score five more runs in the third for a 9-0 lead.
Gracie Crafton earned the win, allowing eight hits while striking out five.
Shelbyville hosts Mt. Vernon (3-10, 2-3 HHC) today.
South Decatur 19, Waldron 3
The Cougars scored six runs in the first inning and nine in the fourth to secure the Mid-Hoosier Conference win over the Mohawks.
Carly Shook and Daisy Martin each drove in four runs and Raegan Benge had four hits for South Decatur (4-6, 2-2 MHC).
Alexis Rogers had two hits and two RBI for Waldron (0-5, 0-2 MHC).
The Mohawks are at North Decatur (4-7, 3-3 MHC) today.
Girls tennis
Waldron 4, Hauser 1
The Mohawks swept the singles matches and added a win at No. 1 doubles to clinch the MHC championship.
At No. 1 singles, Emerson Lindsey defeated Ruby McKinney, 6-0, 6-1.
Riley Thurston blanked Kaydenze Brock at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Ava Leising completed the singles match sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Isabella Price.
At No. 1 doubles, Riley Price and Malia Murphy topped Abby Marley and Kaycee Ridgeley, 6-2, 6-0.
Hauser’s lone win came at No. 2 doubles where Maley Jordan and Jane Berkenstock defeated Madeline Walker and Lilly Mann, 6-1, 6-2.
