
For the second time in 10 days, Triton Central volleyball swept Eastern Hancock.
On Thursday in the Eastern Hancock Sectional, Triton Central produced a 25-21, 25-19, 25-23 victory to move into Saturday’s semifinal round in Charlottesville.
Eastern Hancock’s first meeting with Triton Central was not nearly as competitive. On Thursday, the Royals (25-8) took early leads in two of the three sets but could not sustain productivity which allowed the Tigers to recover.
A Lucy May kill pushed Triton Central to a 16-15 lead in the first set and it never trailed again.
The Tigers did not take the lead in the third set until 15-14 on a Gwyn Williams kill. It was all Triton Central from there.
With a sixth straight win, Triton Central improved to 21-8.
The Tigers will face former Indiana Crossroads Conference rival Indianapolis Scecina (10-17) in Saturday’s second semifinal match. The Crusaders swept Irvington Prep (10-12) Thursday in the second quarterfinal match.
In the opening semifinal match Saturday. Christel House (13-8) will battle Heritage Christian (21-8).
The sectional championship match is set for 6 p.m.

Morristown Sectional
North Decatur def. Waldron, 25-10, 25-7, 25-15
In a rematch from an Oct. 2 Mid-Hoosier Conference match won by North Decatur, the Mohawks could not reverse the outcome.
The Chargers defeated Waldron 3-1 in the regular season then swept the Mohawks in the sectional quarterfinal round.
North Decatur improved to 15-16.
Waldron’s season ended with a nine-match losing streak and a 7-21 record.
Knightstown def. Morristown, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20
In the Yellow Jackets’ first match in October, they won at Knightstown in five sets.
The Panthers avenged that loss in the quarterfinal round of the sectional Thursday with a sweep of Morristown.
Knightstown ended a four-match losing streak to improve to 13-15. The Panthers will face North Decatur in Saturday’s semifinal round.
Morristown lost four of its final five matches to close out its season at 12-17.
