
Triton Central softball finished 3-0 Saturday at the Lebanon Invitational.
The Tigers produced wins over Horizon Christian (14-1), Class 2A, No. 3 Lapel (3-0) and Lebanon (10-2) to improve to 11-2 this season.
The Tigers scored 10 runs in the first inning to stun Horizon Christian (11-3).
Ashlyn Hittle had two hits, scored two runs and drove in two for Triton Central. Lilli Fillippinie also scored two runs and drove in two.
Madi Peterson pitched a five-inning complete game, allowed six hits and one walk while striking out six.
Against state-ranked Lapel, the Tigers again struck early. The only runs in the game were scored in the bottom half of the first inning.
Peterson also had three hits in the victory. Hittle had two hits and drove in a run. Jayda McKee had two hits and scored a run. Brylie Couch had a run-scoring double.
Couch delivered a three-hit shutout in the circle. She walked one and struck out seven.
Ava Zdanowski took the loss for Lapel (14-4).
Triton Central completed the sweep with a win over the host Tigers (12-7).
Fillippinie earned the win with a five-inning complete game. She allowed five hits and four walks while striking out six.
Triton Central trailed 1-0 entering the third inning before scoring four runs. A five-run fifth put the game out of reach.
Olivia Schaadt had three hits and drove in two runs. Hittle, Peterson and McKee each had two hits.
Triton Central hosts Knightstown (7-7) Monday.

At Triton Central, the host Tigers scored nine runs in the first two innings and cruised to the shutout victory.
Hayden Beaver twirled a five-inning no hitter. He walked two batters and struck out six to earn the win.
Nick Riggins drove in three runs for Triton Central (10-4). Bo West finished with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Weston Smith also drove in two runs.
Jace Parker took the loss for Indy Genesis (11-4-1).
The Tigers continue their quest for an Indiana Crossroads Conference championship Tuesday at Monrovia (6-7).
Boys golf
Trinity Lutheran Invitational
At Shadowood Golf Course, Shelbyville posted 336 to win the invitational.
Jake Garrison tied for runner-up with a 76. Brock Wischmeyer finished fourth, three shots back at 79.
Blake Bryant followed on the Shelbyville scorecard with an 89. Ethan Hughes shot 92 and Kameron Timberlake finished at 95.
Softball
Tri 13, Morristown 0
At Tri, Macey Ballard and Ann Bean combined to pitch a 5-hit shutout against the Yellow Jackets (4-6).
Ballard pitched four shutout innings and struck out seven before Bean closed the game in the fifth inning.
Keirra Mettert had two extra-base hits and drove in four for Tri (12-3).
Morristown hosts South Decatur Thursday.
