
Triton Central softball’s final Indiana Crossroads Conference game was a memorable one.
The Tigers scored a solo run in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday to extend the game with Covenant Christian, then scored the game-winning run in the eighth to secure a 6-5 victory that clinched the ICC championship.
Olivia Schaadt had two hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs to lead Triton Central to the title in its final season in the ICC.
Brylie Couch had three hits, including a double and a home run. The senior also went the distance in the pitcher’s circle, allowing 12 hits while striking out 10.
Marissa Silva took the loss for Covenant Christian (14-12, 5-2 ICC).
Triton Central (19-2, 7-0) won the ICC title with Indianapolis Lutheran (18-6, 6-1) and Covenant Christian finishing runner-up and third, respectively.
The Tigers are leaving the ICC along with Beech Grove, Monrovia and Speedway to join the Hoosier Legends Conference with Indian Creek and Tri-West in the fall. Greenwood and Shelbyville will join the new conference in the fall of 2026.

At Seymour Saturday, the visiting Golden Bears built a 6-0 lead in their regular-season finale then held off a late comeback attempt from the Owls.
Gavin Reed pitched into the sixth inning, allowing six hits and two walks. The Owls (17-7) scored four runs off the junior, but only one was earned.
Reece Prickett secured the final four outs for the save that improved Shelbyville to 17-7 this season.
Aiden Smith had two hits, including his sixth home run of the season, and drove in two runs. Brayden Smith also had two RBI.
The Golden Bears face Class 3A, No. 2 Roncalli (22-4) Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the New Palestine Sectional.
Boys golf
Mid-Hoosier Conference Tournament
At North Branch Golf Course, North Decatur defeated Hauser by 11 strokes (337-348) to claim the championship.
Hauser’s Hunter Pappano was crowned MHC champion with a round of 73. Marshall Moody shot 91 while Brenden Burton and Colten Hatton each posted 92.
Owen Eldridge led North Decatur with a 75. Scott Morford followed with 82. Cooper Parmer shot 88 and Brayden Yeager carded 92.
Southwestern (404) finished third ahead of Morristown (438) and Edinburgh (Incomplete).
Morristown’s Eli Graves shot 89 and earned an All-Conference honor.
Eli Smith (93) and Josh Karr (95) topped the Spartans’ scorecard.
Softball
Center Grove 12, Shelbyville 0
At Shelbyville, the Golden Bears managed just two hits off Center Grove pitcher Kara Biever and lost their regular-season finale.
The Class 4A, No. 2 Trojans (21-3) scored in all five innings Saturday. Mae Munson had four hits and scored two runs.
Sydney Herrmann and Taylor Barrett each hit home runs and combined to drive in four runs.
Gracie Crafton took the loss for Shelbyville (17-12), allowing 11 hits and nine runs in 3.1 innings in the circle.
