
Triton Central girls soccer secured its 10th shutout victory of the season Thursday in the semifinal round of the Monrovia Sectional.
The Tigers blanked Brown County, 4-0, to improve to 11-4-2 this season.
Scoring goals for Triton Central were Ava Bedwell, Ahna Ashman, Bella Ball and Ariel Walker. Assists were credited to Walker, Brynne Aukerman and Rylee Pruitt.
In the other semifinal Thursday, Class A, No. 12 Monrovia defeated Hauser, 11-0.
Triton Central and Monrovia will meet in the sectional championship match Saturday at 7 p.m. at Monrovia.
The Bulldogs defeated the Tigers, 6-2, on Sept. 27. Triton Central led 2-1 at halftime but Monrovia scored five second-half goals to secure the Hoosier Legends Conference victory.

Waldron battled against one of the top tennis programs in the state but could not over the 10th-ranked Trojans to capture its first regional championship.
At No. 1 singles, Yuvraj Dasari defeated Charlie Fischer, 6-1, 6-4.
Alexander Kandris topped Cash Young at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Jack Dybwad bested Lincoln Fischer at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
At No. 1 doubles, Jackson Kuhn and Caige Sheaffer were defeated by Maanav Kamath and Austin Crow, 6-3, 6-2.
Louis Teed and Jonathan Cracraft completed the sweep with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles over Noah Mitchell and Connor Ping.
Waldron finished the season at 15-4.
While the Mohawks' season is over, the postseason road continues for Southwestern's Kyle Beck and Shelbyville's doubles team of Aiden Smith and Wyatt Armstrong. Both were crowned sectional champions Thursday and advance to the Indianapolis North Central Regional on Oct. 18.
The regional pairings for the singles and doubles tournaments have the Center Grove Sectional champions (Beck and the Golden Bears) taking on the Mt. Vernon Sectional champions in the other semifinal. The other semifinal pits the Columbus North Sectional champions taking on the North Central Sectional champions.
The regional championship matches will take place later in the day.
Volleyball
Shelbyville def. Warren Central, 25-14, 25-16, 25-14
At Garrett Gymnasium, the host Golden Bears ended a two-match losing streak with a sweep of the Warriors (7-17).
Shelbyville won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 25-16.
The Golden Bears (11-16) close out their regular-season schedule Saturday at the Lawrence North Invitational.
Triton Central def. Greenfield-Central, 22-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-23
At Triton Central, the host Tigers rallied after losing the first set to defeat the Cougars (16-12).
Triton Central won the junior varsity match, 26-24, 25-23.
The Tigers (18-8) have won three straight matches and will seek a Shelby County Tournament championship Saturday at Southwestern High School.
The event begins with a semifinal match for Triton Central against Waldron (7-19). The other semifinal pits Morristown against Southwestern.
