
Four teams finished within two strokes of each other at the highly competitive Indiana Crossroads Conference Tournament Monday at Whispering Hills Golf Course.
Covenant Christian and Speedway tied atop the team standings at 333. Indianapolis Scecina finished one shot back at 334, and one shot ahead of Triton Central at 335.
The first tiebreaker applied was each team’s score of its fifth golfer. Covenant Christian’s fifth player shot 89 to get the Warriors the ICC championship.
Indianapolis Lutheran’s Caden Perkins was the individual champion with a 74.
Triton Central’s Derreck Uhls finished fourth overall at 79. Chase Chandler followed with an 81.
Also competing for Triton Central were Colton Ayres (82), Max Crouse (93) and Garrett Eberhardt (100).

Baseball
Indianapolis Lutheran 7, Triton Central 1
At Triton Central, the visiting Saints produced a pair of three-run innings to pin the first Indiana Crossroads Conference loss of the season on the Tigers (15-5, 11-1 ICC).
Hudson Mills had a triple and drove in three runs for Lutheran (12-8, 9-3 MHC). Sam Strader had two doubles and drove in a run.
Janssen Capps took the loss for Triton Central. The junior pitched into the sixth inning and allowed six hits and two walks while striking out four. Hayden Beaver secured the final four outs.
Nick Riggins had three hits in the loss.
Triton Central still holds a one-game lead over Covenant Christian atop the ICC standings.
The Tigers host Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter (3-14, 0-12 ICC) today and are at Ritter Wednesday. A sweep of the two-game series would clinch the title outright.
Covenant Christian (14-10, 10-2 ICC) hosts Monrovia (10-10, 7-5 ICC) Wednesday and is at Monrovia Thursday to complete its ICC schedule.
Knightstown 8, Southwestern 5
At Southwestern, the Class A, No. 3 Panthers scored in every inning but the first to secure the road victory at Southwestern.
Braylon Johnson and Jackson Daves each had three hits for Knightstown (19-3). Seven different Panthers drove in a run.
Clayton Randolph took the loss for Southwestern (6-8). He allowed seven hits and five walks over five innings. Kaden Barlow pitched two innings and allowed four hits and two runs.
Barlow had two hits while James Oliver drove in three runs.
Southwestern is at Tri (2-18-1) Wednesday.
Waldron 3, Edinburgh 1
At Waldron, the host Mohawks scored an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the Mid-Hoosier Conference win.
Jordan Bennett pitched a complete game. The senior scattered three hits and three walks while striking out 11 to push Waldron’s record to 7-12 (5-6 MHC).
Avynn Whitaker took the loss for Edinburgh (6-14, 1-10 MHC). The senior allowed three hits and two walks. He struck out 12.
The Mohawks and Lancers will meet against Thursday at Edinburgh.
Hauser 17, Morristown 0
At Hauser, Kameron Blair had three hits, scored two runs and had two runs batted in to lead the Class A, No. 7 Jets (13-3, 10-0 MHC) to the conference championship.
Holden Pittman and R.J. Foster combined to limit the Yellow Jackets (6-13, 3-7 MHC) to one hit while striking out nine.
Hauser is at Morristown today for the second game of the conference series.
Boys golf
Connersville 171, Shelbyville 177
Brock Wischmeyer led Shelbyville with a 40. Logan Reinhart and Logan Tobian each shot 44.
Softball
Greenfield-Central 13, Shelbyville 8
At Greenfield-Central, Savvanna Riall had three extra base hits and drove in seven runs to secure the Cougars at least a third-place finish in the Hoosier Heritage Conference standings.
Riall hit two home runs and had a two-run double to improve Greenfield-Central to 13-7 (5-2 HHC). Leilani Forshey also had a home run as part of the Cougars’ 14-hit attack.
Shelbyville’s Addison Stieneker and Anna Shearer each hit solo home runs in the first inning to spot the Golden Bears (16-11, 4-3 HHC) a quick 2-0 lead.
Gracie Crafton took the loss, allowing nine hits and eight runs. Sydney Brown pitched the final four innings, allowing five hits and five runs (all produced by Riall).
Stieneker, Crafton, Shearer and Julie Garrison each had two hits. Seven different Golden Bears drove in a run.
Shelbyville hosts Indianapolis Cathedral (23-0) Thursday.
Edinburgh 16, Waldron 3
At Waldron, five different Lancers drove in two runs to secure the MHC win.
Chloe Hancock limited the Mohawks to three hits and two walks. The freshman struck out nine.
Shelby Zapfe took the loss for Waldron (0-10, 0-6 MHC).
Waldron is at Hauser (9-5, 8-0 MHC) Wednesday.
Hauser 13, Morristown 1
At Hauser, Isabelle Brunner had three hits, scored three runs and drove in four to lead the Jets. Lexie Hamilton also had three hits and scored three runs.
Haven Hartwell earned the win, allowing three hits while striking out six.
Nevaeh Cox had a double and drove in a run for Morristown (8-10, 5-5 MHC).
The Yellow Jackets host Hauser Thursday.
