Prep Report: Shelbyville girls soccer improves to 2-0

With a goal in each half, Shelbyville girls soccer improved to 2-0 Wednesday with a 2-1 win over visiting Monrovia.

Camille Chaney and Adrianna St. Bernard each scored goals for the Golden Bears in their first Hoosier Legends Conference (HLC) contest.

Triton Central 3, Indian Creek 1

At Triton Central, Rylee Pruitt scored a pair of goals to lead the Tigers to the HLC victory.

Maddie Burnett also scored for the Tigers (1-1, 1-0 HLC).

Boys tennis

Shelbyville 3, Franklin 2

At Shelbyville, a three-set win at No. 2 doubles propelled the Golden Bears to a season-opening win.

Owen Shively and Grant Tackett outlasted Franklin’s Kail Zulkowski and Austin Kinnett, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.

At No. 1 singles, Shelbyville’s Kashton Laycock bested Oliver Wiltz, 7-6 (3), 7-5.

The Golden Bears’ other win came from Bram Kolkmeier at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-2 over Corbin Booth.

Franklin’s Caleb Shoup defeated Shelbyville’s Mason Miano at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-4.

At No. 1 doubles, Carsten Bland and David Strait topped Shelbyville’s Cooper Reed and Jack Van Wye, 6-2, 6-4.

At Triton Central, the Tigers swept the singles matches to collect the HLC victory.

At No. 1 singles, Brayden Hoover defeated Nolan Weir, 6-3, 6-0.

Bradyn Robinson blanked Abram Wiseman, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

Drayton Kermode produced a 6-0, 6-2 win over Lochard Rainwater at No. 3 singles.

At No. 1 doubles, Indian Creek’s Grayson Taylor and Mason Frische defeated Graham Gast and Colton Ayres, 6-3, 6-0.

A.J. Emenheiser and Aaron Hickson topped Owen Rice and Cash Eck at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, 7-5.

Triton Central improved to 2-0 this season.
