
Dalton Jones put on a show.
The Shelbyville senior tossed a 3-hit shutout and, with his own 2-hit performance, broke the Golden Bears’ career record for hits in a 4-0 victory over Delta at Barnett Field.
Jones’ first hit of the Hoosier Heritage Conference contest gave him 90 career hits, eclipsing the previous record of 89 set by Drew Mathies in 2017.
On the mound, the Olney Central commit, allowed three hits and three walks while striking out four to earn his first win of the season.
Shelbyville (8-6, 3-5 HHC) scored single runs in the second and fourth innings and added two insurance runs in the fifth to secure its fourth-straight win.
Zane Cline (4.2 innings, five hits, four runs) took the loss for Delta (8-6, 4-6 HHC).
The Golden Bears host Franklin County (5-5) Saturday.

Triton Central 2, Covenant Christian 1
At Covenant Christian, Bryce Haney outdueled Eli Kegeris in a battle of the Indiana Crossroads Conference leaders.
Haney pitched a complete game, allowed two hits and one walk while striking out 13 to keep the Tigers (8-3, 7-0 ICC) atop the conference standings.
Brayden Hoover had two hits for Triton Central and Blaine Raider and Haney had the Tigers’ only run-producing hits.
Kegeris pitched into the seventh when Triton Central scored the go-ahead run and was relieved by Henry Boyce. Kegeris allowed just four hits and three walks while collecting seven strikeouts.
Covenant Christian (7-4, 6-1 ICC) travels to Fairland today to complete the ICC series.
Hauser 15, Southwestern 1
At Hauser, R.J. Foster and Lukas Christian combined for three hits, four runs scored and four runs batted in to improve the Class A, No. 4 Jets to 8-3 (7-0 Mid-Hoosier Conference).
Simeon Wasil pitched five innings and scattered three hits and two walks. He struck out 10 Spartans.
James Oliver took the loss for Southwestern (4-3, 4-2 MHC). He allowed eight hits and eight runs (only three were earned) in three innings on the mound.
The Jets and Spartans finish their MHC series today at Southwestern.
Boys golf
Whiteland 175, Triton Central 175
At The Legends Golf Club, the top four golfers for each team produced identical team scores. The Warriors were declared match winners with a lower fifth-golfer score (46-47).
Triton Central’s Chase Chandler was the match medalist with a 3-over par round of 39.
Also on Triton Central’s scorecard were Max Crouse (45), Garrett Eberhardt (45), Colton Ayres (46) and Derreck Uhls (47).
The Tigers host Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter today.

At Lutheran, Trine University commit Brylie Couch twirled a 1-hit shutout and struck out 17 Saints to keep the Tigers (8-1, 3-0 ICC) atop the conference standings.
Lillie Fillippinie had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Ashlyn Hittle had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs.
Triton Central is at Shelbyville (11-6) Friday.

At Triton Central, the Tigers lost just three games while sweeping the Sparkplugs.
At No. 1 singles, Maryrose Felling defeated Olivia Johnson, 6-1, 6-0.
Anniston Evans blanked Antonella LaRosa, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Ellie Gast earned 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles over Kamryn Lowe.
Triton Central’s doubles pairings of Kate Collier and Neve Kahler (No. 1 doubles) and Estelle Gearlds and Caydence Stout (No. 2 doubles) each won 6-0, 6-0.
Triton Central improved to 7-1 this season.
