
Sophomore Julie Garrison collected her first medalist honor for Shelbyville golf Wednesday in a 209-255 win over Beech Grove at Blue Bear Golf Club in Shelbyville.
Garrison (photo) posted the low round of 48 to lead all golfers.
Also filling in Shelbyville’s scorecard were Riley Everette (53), Maddy Jones (54) and Hana Stenger (54).

Franklin 3, Shelbyville 2
At Franklin, Shelbyville got wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles but could not capture a third match and lost to the Grizzly Cubs.
At No. 1 singles, Reece Prickett defeated Jaxson Doddridge, 6-2, 6-1. The Golden Bears’ No. 1 doubles pairing of Aiden Smith and Wyatt Armstrong topped Ethan Barnes and Luke Sherry, 6-2, 6-1.
Franklin’s No. 2 doubles team of Jonah Henry and Carsten Bland bested Aiden Alton and Jack Van Wye, 6-3, 6-1.
At No. 2 doubles, Franklin’s Oliver Wiltz defeated Kashton Laycock, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. And Corbin Booth was successful at No. 3 singles over Bram Kolkmeier, 1-6, 7-6, 7-6.
Triton Central 4, Indian Creek 1
At Triton Central, the host Tigers won both doubles matches and secured match wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to defeat the Braves.
At No. 1 doubles, Max Crouse and Caleb McGuire defeated Grant Dalton and Mason Fritsche, 6-3, 6-1.
Talan Canter and Graham Gast scored a win at No. 2 doubles for Triton Central with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over A.J. Emenhiser and Aaron Hickson.
At No. 1 singles, Janssen Capps topped Grayson Taylor, 6-2, 6-2. And Brayden Hoover bested Indian Creek’s Landon Hamilton at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Indian Creek’s lone win came at No. 3 singles where Will Shobe defeated Bradyn Robinson, 6-2, 6-4.
Junior varsity winners for Triton Central were Colton Ayres, Owen Rice and Cash Eck as well as the doubles teams of Jason Gregory and Hyatt Watson, and Rylan Anderson and Brylon Scott.
