Plymouth captured championship wins at 106, 138, 150 and 285 weight classes to win the Northern Lakes wrestling title Saturday at Mishawaka High School.
The Rockies topped a closely contested field by edging NorthWood’s 182.5 and Mishawaka’s 180. Rounding out the conference field were Northridge 168.5, Goshen 135, Wawasee 131, Warsaw 109, and Concord 105.
For Plymouth:
Alonzo Chantea (36-2) pinned Brody Blevins of Mishawaka at 106.
Wesley Smith (37-1) pinned Oliver Sesmal of Concord at 138.
Caydn Smith (37-1) defeated Drew Ginter of Mishawaka at 150, 13-4
Anthony Popi (35-3) defeated Brody Streeter of Northridge at 285, 11-2.
In the championship match at 132, Graysen Beasley of Northridge defeated Seth Wright of Plymouth by technical fall.
At 144, Mishawaka’s Zar Walker pinned Christopher Firebaugh of Plymouth.
In a third place match at 126, Coen Kraemer, Plymouth, pinned Casey Smith of Warsaw.
For third place at 157, NorthWood’s Payton Griffin downed Plymouth’s Braxton White, 12-3
