The Lawrenceville Lady Softball Indians were one inning away from a win Monday at Phil Alsman Field.
They led 3-2 over Hutsonville-Palestine in the top of the 7th inning, but the visitors scored a run to tie the contest at 3 and went on to score 6 more runs in the top of the 8th inning for a 9-3 extra inning win.
Hut-Pal scored 9 runs on 14 hits and made no errors while the Lady Indians scored 3 runs on 7 hits but made 4 costly errors that contributed to the loss.
Erin Harris and Addy Brush each had 2 hits, Allison Evans had a hit and RBI and Annalise Green had 2 RBI to lead the offense.
The loss was the 4th in a row for the Lady Indians, who drop to 2-9 on the season.
They are right back at it Wednesday as they travel to Indiana to meet the South Knox Lady Spartans
