Morristown Youth Football has announced a major milestone for the program and the Morristown community. The organization has reached an agreement with Shelby Eastern Schools to utilize land that will allow the development of a dedicated football field for the youth program.
Morristown Youth Football began in 2021, sparked by the dedication and vision of a small group of community members who believed local youth deserved the opportunity to experience competitive tackle football close to home. Their goal was simple but powerful: bring the game of football to Morristown students in grades K–12, while fostering teamwork, discipline, leadership, and a love for the sport.
Since its founding, the program has grown rapidly and made a meaningful impact in the community. Through the generosity of local supporters and partners, Morristown Youth Football has been able to serve more than 100 families over the past four years at absolutely no cost to players or their families.
The organization also partners with a cheerleading program that supports approximately 30 young girls, creating an inclusive and exciting game-day environment for the entire community.
The program’s continued growth has driven expansion in recent years. In 2023, Morristown Youth Football expanded its league to include grades 7-8, and in 2025 the organization added grades 9-12, creating a complete developmental pathway for young athletes from youth football through high school competition.
“This agreement represents a huge step forward for our program,” said Greg Worton, President of Morristown Youth Football. “We started with a simple vision just a few years ago. Seeing the program grow from a small K-6 league to now serving athletes all the way through high school has been incredible. Having a field of our own will give our athletes a place to call home and allow our program to continue growing.”
The future field will serve as a central location for practices, games, and community gatherings while strengthening the program’s long-term stability.
“This project is really about the future of our kids and our community,” said Courtney Chapella, Vice President of Morristown Youth Football. “We have been incredibly fortunate to build a program that removes financial barriers for families while still giving kids the opportunity to experience competitive football. Developing our own field is the next step in ensuring this program continues to grow and serve Morristown youth for years to come.”
With the program now serving athletes from kindergarten through 12th grade, the development of a dedicated field represents an exciting new chapter for Morristown Youth Football and the families it serves.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Morristown Youth Football relies entirely on the support of donors, businesses, and community partners to fund the program. Football requires a significant investment in equipment, facilities, and safety gear.
Additional details about fundraising efforts, sponsorship opportunities, and development plans for the field will be announced in the coming months.
