Congratulations to Lawrence County wrestler Nick Moorehead on a fine season.
The junior competed in the 175-pound weight class at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Wrestling Finals this past weekend at the State Farm Center at the University of Illinois in Champaign.
He dropped both of his matches. On Thursday, Moorehead was beaten in a 14-11 decision by Jeshua McPheeters of Macomb in a first-round match and then on Friday, he lost in the consolation bracket to John Mensendike of Lena-Winslow 15-0.
Moorehead finishes with a 31-13 overall record and will return next year to wrestle for Lawrence County.
