In an all-Little Illini Conference (LIC) matchup Wednesday, the Marshall Lions beat the Lawrenceville baseball Indians 6-4 in the semifinals of the Class 2A Paris Regional.
The win avenged an earlier loss to the Indians during the regular season.
With the defeat, the Indians had a modest two-game winning streak snapped and their season ended with a 10-11 record.
Marshall will move on to the title game Saturday. The Lions will face top seeded Effingham St. Anthony. The Bulldogs beat host Paris 10-0 in the other semifinal.
