The win was a mild upset for the Indiana sired Kingsbury Road, paying $13.00 to win in the one and one-sixteenth mile race.
Even midway through the final turn, the top two were still five lengths ahead of the rest of the pack, which was beginning to tighten up and move forward toward the leaders.
At the head of the lane, the rest of the horses had caught up to Goldwyn and Takeitandrun with Kingsbury Road the widest of all. It only took a few strides into the lane for Kingsbury Road to take control of the race and once he was on the front, he cleared the remainder of the field by four and three-quarter lengths to pave the way for the win.
Lookin for Glory and Jose Gutierrez also closed from nearly last to finish second. Run Away Rojo and Joe Ramos finished third.

Kingsbury Road scored his sixth career win for trainer Bob Gorham and owner Marion Gorham. Overall, the four-year-old son of Unbridled Express has more than $260,000 in career wins and is now three for six in 2025. The Indiana sired gelding earned his second premier win in the effort.
The race was named in honor of Mike and Penny Lauer’s standout racehorse Strong Tide, who not only found success in Indiana but was a contender nationally, becoming a multiple Graded Stakes placed horse who won 10 races in 45 starts and earnings of more than $910,639 before retiring in 2024.
The race was named in honor of the English Channel gelding as he is the second all-time leading Indiana bred money earner of all time, only behind Bucchero, who has $947,936 on his card.
The 23rd season of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing runs through Nov. 13.
