A local youth has advanced to the national Elks Hoop Shoot finals.
Parkview Junior High seventh grader Paxton Gher won the North Central Region (12-13 year old division) championship in Iowa Saturday.
He made 23 of 25 free throws to capture the title.
Gher will now compete at the national finals in Chicago, Ill on Saturday, April 26th.
