Former Morristown coach to lead Indiana Junior All-Stars

Former Morristown boys basketball coach Scott McClelland has been named head coach of the Indiana Junior All-Stars.

McClelland (photo) led Morristown to the 2018 Class A state championship. He is currently the head coach at Noblesville, where he is 86-38 in five seasons. He has 332 career wins in 23 seasons.

Barr-Reeve head coach Heath Howington, who led the Vikings to the Class A state championship Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, will be McClelland’s assistant coach.

Six juniors were selected to the Core Group that will play in exhibition games against the Kentucky Junior All-Stars and the Indiana All-Stars. Those players are Plainfield’s Harper Baker-Lands, Fishers’ Jason Gardner Jr. and Cooper Zachary, Pike’s Isaiah Hill and Jahari Miller, and Mt. Vernon’s Max Vise.

The six members of the Red Group will join the Core Group to face the Kentucky Junior All-Stars on May 31 at Charlestown High School. The Red Group includes Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter’s Devin Bolden, Bloomington South’s Duncan Combs, Bloomington North’s Derrick Cross, Guerin Catholic’s Jake Grissom, Silver Creek’s Brandon Hunter, and Terre Haute North’s Tyler Renn.

The Blue Group will play with the Core Group against the Indiana All-Stars on June 3 at Mt. Vernon High School. The Blue Group consists of Harrison’s Brody Baker, Carmel’s Cash Daniels, South Bend St. Joseph’s Elijah King, South Bend Riley’s Da’Kori Parker, Westview’s Austin Schlabach, and Homestead’s Mack Welker.
