Five Tigers bestowed with All-ICC softball honor

Triton Central won the Indiana Crossroads Conference softball title this past season and now five Tigers have been honored with All-Conference distinction.

Brylie Couch, a Trine University commit, batted .472 with 14 doubles, nine home runs and 39 runs batted in. She also was 11-2 in the pitcher’s circle with a 1.80 earned run average and 119 strikeouts in 77.2 innings.

Lillian Fillippinie, a Muskingum commit, also was strong in the batter’s box and the circle. She hit .412 with 12 doubles, seven home runs, 37 runs scored and 37 RBI. She was 4-1 with a 3.12 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 42.2 innings.

Jayda McKee, an Anderson commit, hit .417 and 39 runs scored.

Ashlyn Hittle batted .544 with 33 runs, 10 home runs and 32 RBI.

Madison Collins hit .338 with 30 runs and 21 RBI.

Also named All-ICC were Covenant Christian’s Emily Nottingham, Ariannah Jones and Braylin Boruff; Monrovia’s Camryn Wolfe and Jocelyn Donitzen; Indianapolis Lutheran’s Gracie Boggs, Amelia Hughes and Leyla Miller; Beech Grove’s Harper Moore, Mylee Boling and Addison Corn; Speedway’s Laney Jarett and Mallory Short.

In its final season in the ICC, Triton Central (23-3) secured the conference championship with a perfect 7-0 mark.

Lutheran (21-7, 6-1 ICC) was runner-up ahead of Covenant Christian (14-13, 5-2), Monrovia (10-10, 4-3), Beech Grove (12-14-1, 3-4), Speedway (5-10, 2-5), Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter (11-14, 1-6) and Indianapolis Scecina (4-14, 0-7).
